OECD Urges China To Close Farm Income Gap, Safeguard Environment

China must narrow the large income gap between its rural and urban populations and improve the environmental sustainability of its agricultural sector, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said Monday. The OECD said China's restrictions on its labour and land markets had resulted in a significant mis-allocation of resources and contributed to the large disparity in urban and rural incomes, and between regions.
